The Sociolinguistics of English in Ireland
PULSThis seminar will focus on the historical, cultural and sociolinguistic realities of English in Ireland. It will combine the World Englishes paradigm with Variationist Sociolinguistic, Cognitive Sociolinguistic and Historical Sociolinguistic approaches in order to produce an understanding of the complex multilingual and ideological setting in which English in Ireland has been developing.
